Too Faced Melted Matte Liquified Matte in It's Happening

I have tried a lot of liquid lipsticks and to be honest, only a few made my "to wear" list. Others just sit at the back of my shamefully big lipstick collection.

Too Faced Melted Matte Liquified Lipstick is definitely one of my go-to liquid lipstick. It is long-lasting, matte but not make my lips dry, and the finish is simply beautiful.

I have their melted matte  in the shade Sell Out. It is your regular mauve pink shade. It is easy to apply, unlike other liquid lipsticks where you have to be 3 inches from your magnifying vanity mirror to apply so you wouldn't apply "outside" your lips and smear all over your face.

I was going to get another shade and last week Sephora had an awesome gift with purchase offer online. Buy $25 and get a deluxe sample of It's Happening.

It's Happening is a bright fuchsia magenta shade. It is very intimidating when you first look at it. It actually looks much brighter in real life. It is very pigmented but the formula of the Too Faced Melted Matte Liquified lipstick is so creamy and easy to apply.

How I apply It's Happening is since it is super bright, I only dare to dot a few tiny dots on my lips and then either use a q-tip or a piece of tissue paper to spread out the color. If I apply it full-on, like the other shade I own which is an easy mauve shade, it would be too much. This is only my second time testing this shade out so I am still trying to figure out a way to apply it well. Since I dab the product on and spread out with my a q-tip, my lips are quite dry afterwards and I have to apply my Buxom lip gloss on top. Yes, I know, it defeats the purpose of applying a matte lipstick. Will have to experiment more to find the best way to apply this gorgeous shade.

Are you a fan of bright fuchsia lip shade for the summer?

New Maybelline Products

Maybelline has been one of my favorite drugstore brands. I was sent some products to try out and out of the 5 products, I have only tried the Fit Me Matte and Poreless Foundation. I was sent the right shade which I am very happy about and it will be perfect for the summer.

  1. Maybelline New York FaceStudio Master Camo Color Correcting Kit*
  2. Maybelline New York FaceStudio Master Strobing Liquid Illuminating Highlighter*
  3. Maybelline Fit Me Matte and Poreless Foundation*
  4. Maybelline Brow Precise Perfecting Highlighter*
  5. Maybelline Colossal Big Shot Mascara*

There are a lot of color correcting kits out there. I mainly use the light salmon shade and the green shade to help with my dark circles and redness around my nose. Not a particular fan of this one though. The shade selection is very good for this kit as I can see myself using all the shades. But the formula is not as creamy as I would prefer. I feel the creamier it is, the better coverage it is. These shades are just too light to the touch and do not do much in terms of correcting any color imperfections.

The Brow Precise Highlighter is a very unique and good concept of applying highlighter to your brows. The slanted-angle tip really help in how precise you want the highlighter to be applied onto your brow bone. However, even though I have oily combo skin, I always have dried skin on my brows. I find this formula to be a bit too powdery. I have to use my fingers to blend it out a bit but find the highlighter got rubbed into tiny crumbs. Not a pretty scene and especially when those crumbs got into my eyes. I suggest to apply moisturizer well onto brow area before using this.

Strobing Liquid Illuminating Highlighter is my favorite product. I like a subtle highlighter and this one is subtle enough but definitely noticeable on the cheeks. I have used this both as a highlighter by dabbing a few dots on top of my cheekbones and also mix it with my foundation to give it a more luminous finish. It is a light pink pearl shade and it is a breeze to blend.

The mascara is the Colossal Big Shot. I usually only use waterproof formula and the one I am sent is a regular one. I have tested it out but I like to give it a few more days after I opened the tube to really test it out as I like the formula to be a bit drier for my stubborn lashes so it wouldn't weigh them down too much.

Fit Me Matte and Poreless Foundation is a drugstore foundation I have tried before and gave high review. It has great coverage and even though it says matte, as I have oily combination skin, it dries to a semi-matte for my skin. This foundation does not feel heavy at all. I hate wearing foundation all day long with a thick coverage. Feel like my pores are being suffocated but not this one. This one has enough natural coverage but yet still feel light. I don't need the urge to rush home to wash off my face. It is a must for me, especially in the summer months.

Have you tried any of these Maybelline products?

Kmall24 Sheet Mask Awesome Deal

If you have been following my blog for a while, you would know that I am obsessed with facial sheet mask. Once you try a few ones and know which ones work best for you, stock up.

That is what I did. I placed my second order with Kmall24 and it just arrived. I placed my order on April 12. The processing time of orders is quite long(usually 5 days) and it will take approximately 7-10 business days to arrive.

SNP Bird's Nest Aqua Eye Patch
Tony Moly I'm Real Rice Mask

I got most of the items on deep discount as the shelf life is short for those. But these days I go through a box of sheet masks so often, I don't mind at all.

My order came to US $32 as they are offering free shipping over $29 orders. They are having another free shipping offer until May 10.

Korean Beauty Online Stores Review

Over the past couple of years, I have placed a lot of orders from beauty shops from Korea. I started off with a few reputable Korean ebay sellers and slowly branched out to online stores.

It all depends on the brands you are buying. A few online stores carry a few brands I want and the shipping fee is a major factor as well. Most of them do not offer free shipping(even over a certain dollar amount) and they go by weight. So if you order some luxurious skin care products and they come in glass bottles, you will be hit with a hefty shipping fee.

I ordered my Troipeel Trioareuke A Cushion there. They also have an ebay store. They have a wide variety of brands and the prices are very competitive. I ordered from their ebay store and it was free shipping. Shipping time is acceptable. They ship by economy post and it took approximately 18 business days to arrive.

They offer a lot of Korean brands and if you catch a good sale, you can really save a lot of $. They always have promotions like get $5 off if you spend $50, $20 if you spend $200 etc. I always check on their clearance section first and find great deals there. I ordered a Hera lipstick before Christmas and since it is a small order, I only paid US $4 for shipping which is not too bad. Their shipping time was super fast. I got my order within 5 business days even at the peak of Christmas season. Their shipping fee goes by weight. I wanted to get a few boxes of sheet masks and even they were at deep discount, after the shipping fee is factored in, they were not that cheap after all.

3. Kmall24
I just received my first order from I wanted to try the G-Dragon Fantastic Shining Mask Pack. It is a three-step pack: cleansing foam, a sheet mask and eye cream. Kmall24 has this in deep discount and I thought what a great way to try their store. I also picked up the Innisfree Orchid Eye Cream as I couldn't find it in the stores I went last month when I went home to Toronto. They offer free shipping with orders over US $29. So I got free shipping with this order.

Their order processing time is quite long. I placed my first order on April 10 and it wasn't shipped until 5 days later. They also don't send you email updates about your order. You have to go to your account and check on the status of your order which is not the most convenient way. But my order arrives in less than 10 business days which is very good to me. They also sent it by registered mail so you would have to sign for your parcel. I don't know how long or how often they offer free shipping with orders over US $29 so I placed a second order already. My second order consists of boxes of sheet masks, which in other websites, would cost me a bit for shipping.

4. Meetunni*
This is a new website just launched. They offer free shipping on orders over US $38. They don't have a whole lot of brands yet but their prices are quite good. I ordered sheet masks from them and I got updated email confirmations on my order and order status.

Hope my brief review on these few Korean beauty online stores will help. Do you have a favorite online store to get your beauty/Korean beauty goodies?

April Empties

Laneige Water Sleeping Pack
It Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye Eye Cream
First Aid Beauty Eye Duty Triple Remedy

Macadamia Healing Oil Treatment

Bliss Grapefruit & Aloe Body Butter
Bath & Body Works Beautiful Day Bubble Bath

Covergirl So Lashy Waterproof Mascara
Bobbi Brown Long-wear Eye Pencil
MUFE Aqua XL Eye Pencil

Laneige Water Sleeping Pack is a very good-valued sleeping mask. This jar last me a long time as you only need two finger-tip-ful of product for your entire face. These days, I usually do sheet masks at night but on my day off, I like to use a sleeping mask for extra hydration. I still have a few sleeping mask to go through and will definitely repurchase this once I finish my stash.

It Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye Eye Cream is another great product I finished this month. It is quite pricey for an eye cream and I like to use this in the morning to help with de-puffing my eye area. Now that I am finished with this and use other eye cream, I notice a difference(yes, under eye area is puffy and not as bright). Will buy this after I am done with my current products.

First Aid Beauty Eye Duty Triple Remedy is used together with It Cosmetics eye cream. This has quite a thick consistency and I find it hard to blend it out. Also it has a salmon color and helps with brightening the dark under eye area. I like this but not in love with this.

Continuing with my almost-daily sheet mask routine. Of all these sheet masks, my favorites: IOPE Bio Intensive Essence, Innisfree Second Skin Mask (Trouble) and Tony Moly I'm Real Rice Mask. The first two are really thin, just like your second skin. I find those masks really deliver essence much better than other thicker sheet masks. Those two are pricier than the rest and I will definitely keep repurchasing them. Tony Moly I'm Real Rice Mask is a more affordable sheet mask. I have ordered more from that line and looking forward to trying the test.

Bath and Body Works Honey Tangerine, Pineapple Lilly, Orange Ginger and Peppermint Marshmallow

Peppermint Marshmallow is my favorite from their holiday season collection. I should have stocked up a few more last Christmas. Just keep my fingers crossed that they will bring it back this Christmas. Pineapple Lilly is ok but not my favorite. The floral scent is a bit too strong for me. Orange Ginger and Honey Tangerine are quite nice, subtle enough but still gives out a nice fresh scent.

It feels good to finish a good number of products this month. My stash keeps growing and it is nice to use up some before hoarding more. Do you feel accomplished when you finish a whole bunch?

Jeans Shopping @Winners

I don't know about you guys but I find jeans and swimwear shopping very challenging. You need to be in a certain shopping mode to do those two kinds of shopping. You grab a whole bunch to bring to the fitting room to try on and nothing fits. The process is tiring and frustrating.

I need some new jeans in my wardrobe and I was in "the mode" yesterday to go jeans shopping. I went to Winners and found a few pairs I like.

Mavi jeans

You know everybody is going to take selfies in the change room. Smart tactic!

Buffalo David Bitton skinny jeans similar

Even though these are skinny, they are quite comfortable and the denim is quite stretchy. When I shop for jeans, I like mid-rise and high-rise only. I tend to stay away from low-rise as I have the bad habit of pulling my pants up.

Abercrombie straight boyfriend jeans

I haven't had jeans from Abercrombie for a long time. I picked two sizes larger than my usual size, thinking they might still not fit but this pair is very baggy in the waist and thigh area. Plus it is too " distressed" for my taste. Pass on this one.

This black pair is not from Winners. I wore this yesterday. This is from Zara.

The prices of jeans at Winners are very good. They range from $19 to $30. Compared to full-retailed prices, they are more than 70% off.

Winners is similar to TJ Maxx/Marshall in the US. I love going to Winners as you find great deals there. Merchandise varies from store to store and when I lived in the city before, I hopped from store to store weekly.

Do you enjoy jeans shopping? What is your success rate of finding a great pair?

Sephora Spring Sale Wishlist 2017

Sephora Spring Sale Wishlist 2017

Sephora has 2 sales every year. It is rare so if you have been eyeing on some goodies, better take advantage of the sale. Their sale(15% off)starts April 18(and ends April 24) for Rouge members using code ROUGESPRING. I believe VIB members start a day later.

I don't have a whole lot on my wishlist. Some of them are my regular skin care items so time to stock up. Others include lipstick sets which I love. I am a lipstick hoarder and I have not finished one single full-sized lip product for a longggggggggg time. These mini ones in the sets are just perfect for me.

What is on your wishlist?
